Children's ministry is a vital and energetic part of the life and work of First United Church. When children are baptized, the congregation makes a promise: "to welcome all children who arrive to share in the life and faith of our church, being open to their wisdom and spiritual quests." Children take part in our worship as participants in a time at the front of the church, hearing stories and asking questions. Children also participate by being readers during the service and then by going downstairs to continue their worship in Sunday School.
Currently our children are learning about the Bible using "The Whole People of God." curriculum, which includes stories, activities and crafts. We are blessed to have a dedicated team of adult leaders who share in the leadership of our Sunday School. The Sunday School also enjoys delivering the Christmas message to the congregation in December, and in recent years has been teaming up with the children and young people of Faith Presbyterian Church as part of a joint service.
